Carolina's North Atlantic Double Sock Blank #1

$32.00
sold out

A handpainted and carefully set rendition of Carolina’s view from Lahinch Beach. Double sock blanks are a joy to paint but are labour intensive so they are dyed by request. The higher cost of blanks compared with skeined sock yarn is inherent to the higher cost of the undyed blanks, not the extra time it takes to dye them.

80% SW Merino, 20% Nylon Fingering Sock, 100g (3.5oz), 398m (436yds)

Sock blanks can only be unraveled from one end. Take a moment to determine which end that is. Trust me on this; I learned the hard way! When unraveled, they’ll look like piles of wavy dried ramen noodles. That’s normal and adorable really. Some will recommend you heat the yarn in a pot of water to try to straighten it but I don’t recommend that, especiallhy if your yarn is non-SW. You risk felting it. The curly yarn is perfectly knittable as is.
